About:

Catherine is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, and the Director of the Soul Restoration Project.

Catherine helps create a safe, collaborative space where client concerns can be explored, understood and transformed.

Areas of clinical focus include developmental trauma, single incident and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, couples therapy, relationship recovery, therapy for therapists, and relational blocks to professional confidence and growth.

Catherine is attentive to the details of relational and emotional patterns. She helps each person understand themselves better and develop new capacities to connect and heal their relationships, with self and others. From a theoretical standpoint, she practices from a psychodynamic orientation. Though sometimes brief in nature, usually this is longer term work because of the deeper level of change desired. Catherine also integrates other practices, such as EMDR (to treat trauma), into this general orientation. She is an alumna of the EMDRIA training. Catherine is also a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator, a helpful tool for couples; and a member of CAMFT.

Integration of spirituality with relational and psychological growth is a significant area of education and practice. Also of particular interest is the recovery from negative spiritual experiences/beliefs, and spiritual development and change. For those who desire it, the integration of Christian spirituality and psychology can provide a desired holistic approach. Catherine’s experience as a pastor and years in full-time ministry also help her connect with some of the particular needs of those in full-time ministry.

Catherine has a Bachelor’s of Arts from Barnard College (Columbia University), a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Seminary and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University.

Catherine gives out of the abundance that she has gained educationally, clinically, and in her own process of growth.

In addition to her own practice, Catherine enjoys supporting developing therapists through supervision. She also speaks/writes to offer resources for personal growth and spiritual integration.

“I look forward to offering a safe space where together we can uncover and process unmet needs, losses, fears and desires for connection… where you experience being seen and cared for in the deep parts of your soul. In this process I trust that the intimacy, acceptance, change, relief and creativity you need will emerge.

If this resonates with you, please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.”

Lily:

Lily, a rescue poodle mix, is often at the office. She is a mellow dog who loves people. She happily accommodates the desires of clients, whether that is to sit quietly with a client or to be tucked away in her beloved crate. Catherine has taken several courses in incorporating animals in therapy and Lily has passed the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen exam. Lily could not be more perfect for her job.
